the xylitol music box is a special gum dispenser, designed and made by lotte to embody the heritage of both lotte and the 'xylitol' brand
the transparent cover reveals an intricate mechanism inside that works in unison with the swiss music box. when played, it plays the iconic lotte commercial song from the 1980s.
through the creation and revision of numerous prototypes, we developed a structure that functions correctly. not only the design and shape of the movement but also the materials and surface treatments affected its operation.

the product is made up of around 97 parts that work together intricately to create movement. to ensure it functions properly, it has been meticulously crafted using a variety of manufacturing techniques, as shown in the images.
the metal parts used in the product are specially coated to ensure they retain their shine for a long time and are safe for use in food containers.
The assembly of every product was done by hand. Even if all parts are manufactured to precise dimensions, when many components are combined, certain areas may not fit together perfectly. Therefore, we carefully inspected and adjusted each part during the assembly process to ensure proper fit and function.
