kaist, as one of the top tech institution of south korea, received over 100 billion won from individual donors in 2018. to commemorate these donors, kaist requested an installation for the newly built library’s main lobby.

the installation, ‘the word from the donor’, is based on book-shaped ceramic sculptures, each dedicated to donors who played a vital role in the construction of the library.
within the sculpture, a mini thermal printer is incorporated to preserve the donors' messages, automatically printing a strip of guidance whenever a visitor touches the book sculpture.
